Nancy J. Cohen earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Rochester and a master's degree from the University of California in San Francisco. After working as a clinical nurse specialist, she retired to write full-time. She made her publishing debut with futuristic romance novels written as Nancy Cane. Her first book, CIRCLE OF LIGHT, won the HOLT Medallion Award. Nancy wrote three more books in this genre for Dorchester before she switched to mysteries.
PERMED TO DEATH was her debut mystery from Kensington Publishing Corp. The Bad Hair Day series features South Florida hairdresser Marla Shore who solves crimes with wit and style under the sultry Florida sun. Several of these titles have made the Independent Mystery Booksellers Association bestseller list. KILLER KNOTS and PERISH BY PEDICURE are the most recent books in this popular series.
Nancy's work has come full circle with the publication of her latest book, SILVER SERENADE from The Wild Rose Press. This sexy futuristic romance is her fifteenth published title. Currently she is working on a paranormal romance trilogy.
Nancy is listed in Contemporary Authors, Poets & Writers, and Who's Who in U.S. Writers, Editors & Poets. She is an active member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, Romance Writers of America, Novelists, Inc., International Thriller Writers, and The Author's Guild. She has served as as Secretary for the Florida chapter of MWA and as President of Florida Romance Writers, Inc. As a featured speaker at conferences, libraries, and local community groups, she enjoys meeting readers and booksellers.
When she is not busy writing, Nancy likes dining at local restaurants, regional travel, outlet shopping, and schmoozing with fellow writers. She and her husband live in the Fort Lauderdale area. They are empty-nesters with two grown children.
